Our annual church-wide outreach to bring Thanksgiving meals to over 200 families in need.
Sign-up to volunteer:
- Deliver Info Packets to school counselors on Wed, Oct 8
- Sign-up to be a Grocery Shopper using the donated funds, Tue, Nov 10 & 17
- Call Clients, Nov 18-20
- Help with Meal Delivery, Sun, Nov 22 (We really need some help w/Spanish speakers!)
Donating a Meal Bag
Please turn in your filled bags and/or funds by Sun, Nov 8
Shopping List Here
How it works:
- Volunteers pick up a cloth bag at the church w/ a grocery list attached.
- Purchase the items on the list.
- Return the bag along with a check for $40* by Nov 8. Bring to the Worship Center on Sunday mornings or to the Student Media Room (D-101) Mon - Thu.
* The $40 will be used to purchase a fully cooked frozen turkey, dinner rolls, and a pie for each family.
For those who are unable to do the shopping, you can donate $80 and we will do the shopping.
- Donate By Check: Make out to Bethany UMC with "Thanksgiving Meals" on the memo line
- Donate Online: Scroll to "Other Giving Opportunities" and select the "Thanksgiving Meals" option under the "Missions & Outreach" drop down list.
Phone Callers
- The week before we deliver, we need people to call the recipients to remind them that we will be coming on Sunday and to have someone available to accept the food. We especially need Spanish speakers to help make calls!
Grocery Shoppers
- We need a couple of people who can grocery shop on Tue, Nov 10 & 17

Covered Drive-up in main parking lot
- We will be delivering over 200 bags. If you can deliver 5-6 meals we would greatly appreciate it! Our goal is to get everything delivered between 12:30 - 2:00 PM.
Other Ways to Help on Delivery Day
- PICKUP TRUCKS: We need help getting the turkeys, pies and rolls from HEB @ 9:00 AM on Sun, Nov 22
- CAR LOADERS: On Sunday, Nov. 22 from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM, we need people to help load the groceries into the cars that will be delivering.
