Serve in Care Ministries

If you have a desire to use your gifts and talents to serve in Care Ministries, we have several ways for you to volunteer.

Hospital Visitation

Have a heart for people who are hospitalized? Desire to share your spiritual gifts of mercy, helps, or serving? Join Bethany's Hospital Visitation team by attending a training workshop.  Topics include bedside manners, praying, and listening.

Shepherding Care Card Ministry

I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me.
John 10:14

Do you enjoy reaching out and touching someone with a handwritten note?  Are you a self-starter who likes to set your own schedule or work from home?  This is your lucky day!  Become a Shepherd and write a card to your brothers and sisters at Bethany to stay connected with our Christian family here.

Bethany members make up a big family, and we know the importance of staying connected with our brothers and sisters in Christ.  Be a part of the team of Shepherds who reach out to all of our member families through cards, reminding everyone who joins Bethany that they are prayed over, cared for, and loved!  Be a part of making sure all Bethany members better know that they are part of the family of God.

Want to stay connected even more?  Consider being on one of our many visitation teams that go to hospitals, homes, and assisted living facilities to be the presence of the Church for those who cannot be at Bethany.

Healing Touch Baskets

When a member of your family dies, Bethany loses a member of its family and our hearts ache for you.  We want to offer God’s love and care throughout the first year after the loss of your loved one.  Please let us know how we can be in prayer and care for you during this sad time.

Your Healing Touch team is there for you in many ways:
  • Delivery of a care basket and prayer shawl (if a parent, sibling, spouse or child has died)
  • Mailings of grief care books or cards to support and encourage you at the time of death, three and six months later, and around the first anniversary of the loss
  • Community prayers for your family (with consent)
  • Pastoral phone calls
  • Grief support group (Grief Care)

Care by Cooking

We all have different ways of sharing God’s love with people. If you like to cook or bake, you are invited to join our church’s “Care by Cooking” Team.

Serve in the privacy of your own home or with friends, bring your favorite dishes, and/or make the simplest recipe imaginable. You can cook for any number of occasions at church and do so as often or as little as you like. All we need is your email!

Funeral Hospitality

The loss of a loved one is a difficult and sacred time. Bethany is honored to come alongside grieving families and provide memorial services and receptions for their loved ones. If you would like to offer the gift of your tie, comfort, and warm hospitality to those who are grieving, we welcome you. There are opportunities to serve by providing food for receptions and helping with set-up, serving, and clean-up.
