Fall Mission Focus:
Who's Your Neighbor?
Cultivating Kindness in Our Community and Beyond
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Matthew 7:12
This fall our Bethany family will be reaching out to the community in some impactful ways:
In October we will be supporting our Benevolence program in ways to expand our assistance to those in need. We will also feature a few of our clients’ inspiring stories and some of our volunteers’ testimonials.
All Noisy Offerings this fall will go toward our Benevolence program (Sep 21 & 22, Oct 19 & 20, Nov 16 & 17)
We participated in Hands on Housing on October 5th (rain date: October 12th). Volunteers of all skill levels are invited to help with home repair work that includes painting, power-washing, and more.
Fresh Food for All will continue on the first Friday of every month.
Donate Blood, Nov 3 - We Are Blood will have it mobil blood donation unit on our campus
The annual Thanksgiving Meal Bags Project will launch in November with families and individuals shopping and delivering to low-income households.
Community Thanksgiving Event (previously the Community Thanksgiving Service) - Bethany will host on Tuesday, Nov. 19th, benefitting Hill Country Community Ministries (HCCM).
Alongside these projects, Bethany members and others from the community are invited to two classes about our Matthew 7:2 theme Scripture and God’s call to radically love our neighbors:
Loving Our Neighbors in a Polarized Political World - Pastors Wade Powell and Don McAvoy will co-lead a 4-week study that explores ways to cultivate kindness and quell anxiety in the weeks surrounding the 2024 Presidential elections.
How (not) to Save the World: The Truth About Revealing God’s Love to the People Right Next to You - Our Beyond Our Walls community will host a 5-week class exploring the relatively simple ways we can look around and let people know God loves them.
