This course takes a completely different approach to the study our Old Testament, beginning not with Genesis but the time of the Exile when the current forms of our text were written. The focus is on the historical context of the stories of the Bible, based on written and archeological records. It introduces us to the ancient world, the people of Israel, how they lived and their life challenges as their faith evolved. Our study will be based on half-hour lectures by Professor Chapman from Oberline College.
