Curriculum

Cubbies (18 - 23 months on Sep 1)

Thematic Units: Thematic units are developed around engaging topics with specific interest to Bethany Preschool’s youngest children. These several weeks long units allow for teachers to build on prior knowledge while encouraging student exploration and strengthening connections to a child’s world outside of school.

Curriculum Resource: The Cubbies teachers utilize a play-based curriculum designed to developmentally-appropriately allow for exploration, problem solving, risk taking and creative thought. Our curriculum incorporates the Texas Infant, Toddler and Three-Year-Old Early Learning Guidelines. These skills support cognitive, language, social, emotional, and physical development.

Classroom Experiences

Exploration: Exploration time provides time for child led opportunities for learning through play. Teachers guide students as they discover age-appropriate toys that strengthen development and learn how to interact with their peers.

Snack and Lunch Time: During snack and lunch time Bethany Preschool teachers guide children as they practice and develop their self-feeding skills.

Intentional Play: Bethany Preschool teachers provide thoughtful opportunities for children to learn through play. These include opportunities for sensory development, vocabulary, art, music, and stories.

Outside play: Children develop their gross motor skills, coordination, spatial awareness, balance, and problem solving when playing outside on our toddler-sized playground with slides, push/pull toys, tricycles, and a sandbox. During inclement weather, Bethany Preschool provides a safe, indoor space.
