2022-2023 (revised 8/29/2022)
Bethany Preschool must follow the health guidelines of the Williamson County and Cities Health District (WCCHD). The WCCHD requires that we report all cases of COVID-19 and provide the student's name, date of birth, home address, contact number, symptoms and onset date (if known), test date, and test type. When the WCCHD amends the health guidelines, we will change the Bethany Preschool COVID Guidelines and notify parents.
Daily Assessment Screenings
We ask that parents assess their child daily before attending Bethany Preschool. Parents must ensure that they do not send their child to school if they have had a positive COVID test, or display COVID symptoms as outlined below:
COVID Symptoms
Have they recently begun experiencing any of the following in a way that is not normal for them?
- Fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher
- Chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- Loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
Positive or Probable Case of COVID-19
If your child has a confirmed case of COVID-19, please complete the self-reporting form and inform your child’s teacher. We are required to notify Williamson County Health District to report the case. We will then follow their instructions for contact tracing, notification, cleaning, and classroom closure. Their instructions may include classroom or school closure and/or self-quarantine for those exposed.
The first day of symptoms or a positive COVID-19 test is Day 0. Your child must isolate at home Days 1-5. On Day 6 if your child is fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicine and is symptom free and is over the age of 2 and able to consistently wear a mask, they may return to school. Otherwise they must isolate for Days 6-10. After Day 10 your child may return to school unless fever and symptoms persist.
Close Contact and Quarantining
If your child is in close contact with someone who has a confirmed case of COVID-19, the day of exposure to the close contact is Day 0. A close contact is defined as being within 6 feet of someone for a total of 15 minutes or more. If your child has had a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 90 days and/or is up to date on vaccines for COVID-19, they may return to school if they are 2 years or older and can consistently wear a mask. If your child has not had a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 90 days and/or is not up to date on vaccines for COVID-19, your child should stay home for 5 days. Please monitor your child for symptoms of COVID-19. On Day 6 they may return to school if they are 2 years old or older and able to consistently wear a mask and have no symptoms.
Self-Reporting Form
Please submit this form if you, your child or anyone in close contact with your family has a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19. We frequently keep in contact with the health department and must follow any isolation and quarantining.
