Christmas with Charlie Brown
Advent Sermon Series
Each year at Christmas time Bethany UMC offers many wonderful opportunities to celebrate the birth of Christ through music. This year is no exception and promises many wonderful music/worship experiences including the following:
Begin Advent season with music and decorating the Christmon Tree!
Come enjoy an afternoon of Christmas and holiday favorites presented by various Bethany musical groups including: the Bethany Orchestra, All God’s People Chimes, PURE SOUND, Journeymen, Hallelujah Ringers, Grace Notes, and Bethany Bells. A special feature will include a harp and flute duet by Jane Olson and Mary Len Stanton. This is the perfect time to invite your friends to visit Bethany.
Join us for a Christmas Dessert Social following the concert in the Fellowship Hall sponsored by Bethany Adult Sunday School Classes.
The Chancel Choir and Bethany Orchestra will present CHRISTMAS DREAMS by Joseph M. Martin and Heather Sorenson; directed by Curt Olson and narration by Ben Sterling, with featured soloists, Jennifer Tucker and Steve Young. Throughout time, God has spoken to His people in dreams and visions. CHRISTMAS DREAMS visits these moments in scripture and connects the experiences of ancient times with our modern journey of faith, pointing to Christ, in whose birth the hopes, yearnings and dreams of all the world are fulfilled. Using traditional carols, newly composed seasonal selections and thoughtful narrations, this rich work delivers a tapestry of sound and emotion. We pray CHRISTMAS DREAMS will touch your heart and enrich your Christmas worship celebration as you discover the grace that changes everything.
A song was heard at Christmas to wake the midnight sky, a Savior’s birth, and peace on earth, and praise to God on high. The angels sing at Christmas with all the hosts above, and still we sing the newborn King, His glory and His love. - by Timothy Dudley-Smith
Join us for a morning of music, scripture, and worship. Together, during this 3rd week of Advent, we will rejoice giving thanks for God's love, the birth of His son, Christ Jesus. Let us celebrate the beginning of our salvation. This is the week of... , the candle for... , and the reason why we sing - "Love!"
Join us for this special worship as we tell the Christmas story in scripture and song.
