Brookwood in Georgetown, Texas (BiG) is a four day vocational program for adults with disabilities who are unable to work by themselves in the community. It is a branch community of Brookwood in Brookshire, Texas, a thriving, God-centered entrepreneurial-based community, home and workplace for 180 disabled adults. The citizens develop a sense of belonging and purpose as they do meaningful work and experience validation and respect. BiG has been in existence since November 2011, and the future of BiG is to grow into an extensive campus and community similar to Brookshire, with both residential and vocational opportunities. For now the program is based at a Georgetown church.
The purpose of the ministry outreach is to offer support to BiG by providing volunteers, occasional opportunities to sell their products (non-profit for profit), financial support, and educating the Central Texas area about this unique ministry.
