Teaching Children to Help Others

Bethany Children's Missions, a Children's Ministry of Bethany UMC, strives to help children in need. Introduce your child to the rewarding experience of helping others! Throughout the school year, your child will bring home information for each mission as it takes place.

Quarterly Missions

Children at Bethany and Bethany Pre-School can participate by donating items to help under privileged children through the following quarterly mission projects:

January:  Beans, Beans, Beans Food Drive
Donate canned beans to benefit the Hill Country Ministries Food Pantry.

April:  Undie Sundays
Donate NEW socks and underwear to children in need.

September:  Undie Sundays Backpack Food Ministry
The Backpack Food Ministry is a ministry partnership between Bethany UMC and Hope Austin. This ministry provides weekend food for children in need at Purple Sage Elementary School. Throughout the school year, Bethany and Hope Austin work together, alternating weeks, to provide over 100 bags of food each week to the school that are then given to qualified students.

November:  Libraries of Love, Book Drive and Bake Sale
Donate new and gently used hardback books to establish school libraries in Africa.  Proceeds from bake sale will feed children at Libraries of Love Schools.
