Homeless Ministries

Bags of Grace
A ministry of love to the homeless and a simple way to assist those who are living on the streets of Austin. What is a A Bag of Grace? It is simply a one-gallon ziploc plastic bag filled with specific non-perishable food items and other basics we often take for granted. We know it won't solve homelessness but it is a tangible way we can make a small difference.

Feed My People
We help sponsor one breakfast a month to feed the downtown homeless (300-400 people).

Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN)
Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) is a network of up to 13 churches which provide homeless families a warm, clean place to sleep, hot meals, a place to bathe, wash their clothes, do homework, and feel safe.

Movin' & Groovin'
A ministry that supports the IHN program that houses homeless families at Bethany UMC four times each year. We collect furniture and smaller household items to provide for clients to help them maintain their independence when they “graduate” out of the IHN program. We are also now supporting Veterans groups, Caritas, Epiphany and other homeless/indigent programs.

Mobile Loaves and Fishes
A local ministry which helps feed the homeless and those who cannot afford to feed their families.

Church Under the Bridge (Mission Possible Austin)
Church Under the Bridge (CUB) is a combined effort of churches from all over the Austin area serving the homeless. Volunteers at CUB tangibly demonstrate the love of God to the people living on our streets through the provision of hot meals, clothing, blankets and sleeping bags. CUB now meets every Sunday morning at 7th Street and IH-35 across from the police station. The service starts at 10:00 AM.
