House of Friends
Thursdays, 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM
The House of Friends (HOF) is a community outreach adult ministry of Bethany United Methodist Church. The program provides a therapeutic social day out for individuals with early to mid-stage dementia who are cared for at home and gives a welcome respite or “time away” to the family caregiver. The intent is to minimize caregiver and participant stresses so that institutional care and associated expenses can be delayed. There is no cost for program participation. There is an admittance process for entry to the program. Membership is open to all, regardless of religious affiliation or gender. HOF reaches out in a 30-mile radius to families in the greater Austin area.
