Various Bethany UMC mission and service opportunities are listed below, arranged by age level appropriateness, so families who wish to engage in a mission or service project together can easily decide what is appropriate for their family.

  • Resource Room (Jen Seibel) – help prepare, sort, and organize supplies for Children’s Ministry programs

Hunger and Food

Needlecraft (any age with adequate knitting, crocheting, or sewing ability)

  • Knit a Square - knit or crochet 8 inch squares and send them to South Africa to be assembled into blankets for HIV positive children or orphans
  • Little Dresses for Africa - Sewing children’s dresses and britches to be delivered to children in Africa during mission trips
  • Easter Butterflies – crochet butterflies for those attending Easter worship services
  • Prayer Shawls - knit or crochet shawls which are given out upon request to those who need a Spiritual up lift
  • Faith in Action Crafters - Craft projects, mostly crocheting, for clients of Faith in Action Caregivers
  • Care Wear - knit, crochet, and/or sew, providing handmade baby items directly to hospitals

  • Quest Academy – teens without special needs can volunteer in the social skills class, assisting their peers with developing social skills
