Rev. Kelly Shoenfelt is a Licensed Local Pastor appointed to serve Bethany in a part-time capacity. She has served a variety of roles at Bethany since 2013 and is currently focused on the development of small group communities as a way of intentionally growing in faith alongside others. Kelly holds a Bachelors in Business Administration from The University of Texas and a Master of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. She worked in various capacities in marketing and online customer experience in the corporate world for twelve years before answering her call to full-time vocational ministry. Kelly has been married to Adam since 2005 and loves being mom to her boys, Andrew and Brooks. In her free time, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being active in PTA and Cub Scouts, attending Longhorn sporting events, and kickboxing.

Pastor Lutz has been working part-time as Bethany’s Care Ministries Pastor since the summer of 2002. His major responsibilities are working with older adults, visitation of the sick and homebound, and working with those who have dementia and their caregivers (through the Alzheimer’s Support Group as facilitator and the House of Friends in a variety of roles—working with participants, leading worship, serving on the Strategic Planning Team and the Program Team). He also teaches two courses for Caregiver University: Powerful Tools for Caregivers and The Savvy Caregiver. In addition, he teaches Disciple, Spirit Walk, and adult Sunday School classes, primarily on topics of the Bible, history, and archeology. He has worked in the field of higher education as professor, administrator, and program director for over 30 years. He also has served as associate pastor, pastor, and interim pastor in churches in Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. He is a retired ordained elder in the New York Annual Conference and has been working at Bethany after moving to the Austin area. He has a B.A. cum laude from Bucknell University, the B.D. and M.Div. from Colgate Rochester Divinity School, and the Ph.D. in Old Testament Studies from Drew University.

Charlotte Matzinger is one of the Care Ministries Pastors at Bethany. Before coming to Bethany in June 1980, Charlotte worked in the state legislature and taught in AISD. Charlotte was Director of Bethany School and Director of Children’s Ministry prior to becoming Children’s Pastor. She is married to pharmacist John and they have two married daughters, Amy and Joy, and a grandson Nash. Charlotte enjoys family, walking their Westies, Mackie Belle & Kirby, reading, and spending time at the family ranch.

Rev. David Minnich is Executive Pastor for Missions & Adult Spiritual Formation at Bethany. Before coming to Bethany in June 2000, David was a pastor at University UMC for 14 years and taught at the University of Texas for 6 years. His gifts and passions are teaching, music and mission. Wynn Stenftenagel is an ordained Elder, and has been serving in a variety of pastoral roles at Bethany since January 2006. Her major responsibilities are pastoral care, Stephen Ministry, grief work, visitation, financial assistance, and worship activities. Wynn is a graduate of Indiana University and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. She has been married to Chris since 1994. Wynn serves on the board of New Life Institute and the Annual Conference Worship Planning Team. She is a big fan of reading and hiking as much as possible, often at the same time.

Rev. Tom Deviney is a native of South Texas, having grown up in Victoria and Corpus Christi. A graduate of Southwestern University and the Iliff School of Theology, he served churches in a variety of settings before coming to Bethany in 2001. He and Cindi were married in 1979 and have two children. Aislinn, a graduate of Oklahoma City University and Hillsong Leadership College is currently teaching at Founders’ Academy in Leander. Forrest, a graduate of Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi and a student at Perkins School of Theology is currently serving as the Small Group Coordinator for Munger Place UMC, Dallas. His daughter in law, Mercedes, is the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Operations for the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation. Tom has served with numerous agencies and foundations in and outside of the UMC. In his free time, he enjoys time with his family, bicycling, camping, music and reading.

Rev. Teresa Kingsbury is Student Ministries Pastor at Bethany as well as The Texas Regional Director of Center for Youth Ministry Training (http://cymt.org/). She is currently attending Memphis Theological Seminary in conjunction with CYMT. Teresa graduated in May 2014 from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies and a Certificate of Non-Profit Management. Her ministerial experience includes serving as the Director of Children’s Ministry (1989-1991) and as the volunteer Director of Youth Sunday School (1992-1994) at Laguna Hills United Methodist Church in Laguna Hills, California. Before joining Bethany’s staff professionally, she has also served it in a variety of volunteer capacities including serving as the volunteer Bethany Youth Choir Tours Coordinator for 6 years. Prior to joining the Bethany staff in 2005, Teresa had her own accounting practice serving mostly in the non-profit arena. Teresa and her husband Chris have been married since 1978, have 3 children (Chad, Eric and Kellie), and through their marriages have welcomed 3 additional children (Erin, Maribeth and Ryan). In addition they have 3 grandchildren, Shia, Kate and Miles. She enjoys the outdoors, cooking, reading and time with family and friends.
