Annual Conference of the Southwest Texas Conference
of the United Methodist Church
More than 1,500 clergy members and lay delegates are meeting in Corpus Christi for the 41st session of the Southwest Texas Annual Conference, themed “Developing Principled Christian Leaders for the Church and the World.” Each year all clergy members and an equal number of lay members selected from the local churches attend the Annual Conference session together to worship, fellowship, and conduct the business of the conference. During these sessions, members of the conference hear reports of past and ongoing work; adopt future goals, programs and budgets; and ordain clergy members as deacons and elders. The bishop presides over these meetings.
